Emely H. Jackson

Emely H. Jackson, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012. She was born in Trieste, Italy Aug. 19, 1925 to Vittorio and Sioranna Monetti. She was the oldest of five children and completed college at the University of Padua. Emely left Italy after the end of WWII and moved to England. She met and wed the late Loranzo D. Jackson (in USN) and moved to the U.S. in 1955. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and enjoyed being Den Mother to the Cub Scouts the church sponsored. She cared for others later in life and was known for her loving manner and circle of close friends. She is survived by her sister, Fernanda Monetti; her son, Victor G. Jackson, who is still enjoying the journey of life and numerous relatives and friends from West Virginia to Italy. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., March 30, 2012. A funeral service will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation www.curearthtritis.org.
