Emery leaves behind his beloved wife of over 36 years, Lisa Tyner Walker, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marissa Kaye W. Hobbs and James Manly Hobbs II of Shallotte, and Samantha Brooke Walker of Leland; two precious granddaughters,
Elliotte Kaye Hobbs and Jemma Pearl Hobbs, both of Shallotte; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Christy W. and Ricky McCoy of Mount Olive, and Becky M. and Yates Ivey of Mount Olive; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rex and Ellen Moody of Clinton, and Miles and Rose Moody of Kenly; and several nieces and nephews.
In passing, Emery has reunited with his parents, Nelson M. and Pearl Pate Walker; and his grandparents, Oscar and Pearl Walker, and Clarence and Sudie Pate.
The family is so thankful for Pastor and Mrs. Bartlett and the church family, as well as his medical providers and staff who cared for Emery for these past few years. Better care could not have been asked for! There are a few that stand out -- Dr. Kasbari from SMOC -- the best of the best! - who willingly made himself available to Emery at anytime, day or night, as well as Dr. Lintzeris and Karen N. Preston Vernon from UNC wound center. A special shout out to Gentiva Hospice and their team, especially hospice nurse, Nikki Wolfe, who has a true calling what she does. The family is also grateful for their many friends and other family members who have stepped up during the last few months. Emery was well loved, and will be forever missed.
Though Emery did not receive healing as we had hoped, we do take comfort in knowing he has received the ultimate healing, and is with his Lord and Saviour for now and evermore.
