Emily Mariana Aguilar Brudos
Emilia (Emily) Mariana Brudos, born on October 3, 1938, in Vaughn, NM, passed away suddenly on December 29, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM, surrounded by loving family and friends. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of all those who knew her with her warmth and kindness.
Emily is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Brudos, and their children: Monica Wainio and her husband Mark Wainio, George Brudos, and Kevin Brudos, along with his wife, Stacy Brudos, and son-in-love Randy Vance, along with his wife, Penny Vance.
Emily cherished her role as a mother to her children, grandmother to her grandchildren: W. Kevin, Kerry, Brittany with her husband Reggie, Tristan, Adam and his wife Bethany, Hannah and her husband Stephen, Carson, Noah, Gretta, Lylah, Emma and her husband Brandon and her great-grandchildren: Troy, Eli, Ero, Brady, Cole, Isla Rae, Nora, Evelyn Irene, Amelia, and soon to be born Talia Reese. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was deeply committed to fostering strong relationships with each member.
Emily was deeply cherished by her siblings, including sisters, Anna Martinez with her husband Isabro; Rosa Horcasitas and her late husband, Ray; Julie Aragon with her husband, John; and brother, David Aguilar and his wife, Vickie. Emily's vibrant spirit and unwavering love for her family and community will be sorely missed.
Emily was very involved in the church as well as various church ministries over the years, especially the local chapter of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, whom she dearly loved.
Emily was preceded in death by her father, Antonio Aguilar Sr.; her mother, Avelina Aguilar; her brothers, Antonio Aguilar Jr., and Richard Aguilar; her daughter, Rachel Vance; and her grandson, Nick Novin.
In honoring Emily's life, her loving family looks forward to gathering to celebrate her memory on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Holy Rosary Parish at 5415 Fortuna Rd NW in Albuquerque, NM. Rosary will be prayed at 10:15 a.m., and the Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. with a reception at the church following the Mass. Interment will be at a later date. Emily's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
Pallbearers will be George Brudos, Kevin Brudos, Kerry Brudos, Adam Wainio, Carson Vance, Noah Vance, and Tristan Brudos.
Memorial donations may be made in Emily's name to the New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch.
