Emily Eubanks Obituary

Emily C. Polk Eubanks, 90, of Bronwood, GA. passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Sherwood Baptist Church. Rev. Seth Brasher will officiate. Interment will follow in Bronwood City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Matthew Eubanks, Justin Brown, Christopher Eubanks, MSgt Dustin Eubanks, Chaz Sowell, Gabriel Brown and Michael Norman.

Mrs. Emily was a native of Whigham GA, born to the late Corbie and Lucille Polk, Sr. She grew up in Grady County and, in 1953, married her beloved husband, Donald Eubanks. A hardworking and devoted woman, she spent most of her life as a waitress and was also the proud co-owner of Mama's Kitchen in Dawson, GA.

She had a gift for baking and was especially talented at cake decorating. Many family members and friends will fondly remember her cakes and pies. In her spare time, she loved to go fishing, often finding peace and joy in the quiet moments by the water.

Mrs. Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Eubanks, her daughter-in-law, Sharon Eubanks, her brothers, Corbie Polk, Jr., Carroll Polk, Roscoe Polk, Wallace Polk, Randall Polk and Larry Polk; her sisters, Dorothy Neil Polk and Betty Ann Anglon; and her faithful companion, her dog, Princess.

She is survived by her children; Bill (Joanne) Eubanks and Dr. Ray (Alice) Eubanks, DBS all of Albany, GA, Roy (Teena Skipper) Eubanks of Whigham, GA, Ann (Donald) Brown of Preston, GA, Retired CMSGT Michael (Celena) Eubanks of Prattville, AL and a "bonus daughter", Kennetha (Rusty) McDonald of Sylvester, GA. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Terry Eubanks of Tallahassee, FL, and her brother, Gerald Polk of Cairo, GA.

Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren; Matthew Eubanks of Smithville, GA, Angela Sowell (Michael Norman) of Putney, GA; Justin (Krystle)Brown of Preston, GA, Ginger Brown of Preston, GA; Marly Eubanks of Kathleen, GA; Christina Eubanks of Kathleen, GA; Christopher (Tabreena) Eubanks Opp, AL, MSgt Dustin Eubanks (Vanessa) of Fairchild AFB, Spokane, WA. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren: Chaz Sowell, Gabriel Brown, Kaydence Money, Georgiana Brown, Everly Brown, Taya Kelley, Colton Eubanks, Daniel Eubanks, Melissa Shaner, Owen Shaner. Also, survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
