Emily D. Gaboriault

Emily D. (Dubish) Gaboriault, 90, of 4 Old Boston Turnpike, Hubbardston, died peacefully Saturday, February 14, 2009 in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Gardner after a period of failing health. Emily, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Dubish was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on February 18, 1919 and lived in Paxton for many years before moving to Hubbardston. She worked at Babcock and Wilcox in Manhattan, New York during World War II where she met and married her beloved husband, Norman A. Gaboriault. Norman died in 1979. Emily also worked at Brigham's Clothing Store in Springfield where she sold a wardrobe to Elizabeth Taylor who was filming "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf" locally at the time. She worked as a nursing assistant at Cardinal Cushing Hospital and organized her son's Franchise when she was in her 70's. A communicant of St. Columba Catholic Church in Paxton, Emily was active in Catholic Church functions, social clubs and activities for her husband and children. She loved dancing and won contests. Emily will be sadly missed by her daughter; Norma Lynn Gaboriault, with whom she lived. She also leaves one sister; Elizabeth "Betty" Dunner of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, nieces and nephews. Emily had six siblings. Her son; Raymond L. Gaboriault of Hubbardston died December 26, 2004. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours in Lamoureux-Fletcher Community Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 10am until 12pm Noon. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Columba Church, 10 Richards Avenue, Paxton on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 10am. Rev. David Doiron will officiate. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
