Herberger, Emily A. (nee Willis)
Aug 14, 1989 - Sep 9, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emily A. Herberger (née Willis), beloved wife, daughter, sister, friend, and cherished member of her community. Emily was called home far too soon on September 9th, 2025, at the age of 36. Emily is survived by her loving husband, Paul Herberger, who was the greatest love of her life. Together, they shared an enduring partnership built on laughter, kindness, and unwavering support. She is also dearly missed by her adoring parents, Daniel and Sophia Willis (née Pelysko), and her cherished older brothers, Nathan (Elizabeth) and Benjamin. Emily's loss is felt deeply by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and her lifelong best friend, Sara O'Brien, who stood beside her through every chapter of her life. Emily's beloved cats-George, Wheezy, Biggie, and Smalls-were a constant source of joy, and her love for them knew no bounds. Emily's life was one of remarkable accomplishments and radiant warmth. A scholar and high achiever, she was a standout student at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart, where her infectious laughter and dazzling smile made an impression on all who knew her. It was during these formative years that she met Paul, the man who would become her soulmate and partner for life. Emily continued her academic journey at the University of Rochester, where she pursued a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Her academic excellence and work ethic were only matched by her genuine kindness and generosity. Known on campus for her unwavering positivity and trademark smile, Emily touched the lives of everyone she met. Following her graduation, Emily's career blossomed, as her brilliance and determination opened countless doors. But beyond her professional achievements, it was her heart that made her stand out. Emily was never defined solely by her career or accomplishments-her passions and commitments outside of work truly shaped her spirit. She poured love into her family, friends, and, of course, her beloved cats. Emily was also an integral part of the Clarence Center Volunteer Fire Company, where she served in the auxiliary alongside her husband, who proudly holds the position of Chief. She formed lifelong friendships with the men and women of the fire department, all of whom shared a common goal: to protect and serve their community. Emily dedicated her time and energy to countless events-Labor Day fairs, baseball games, cookouts, and New Year's Eve parties. Wherever she went, her warmth, her laughter, and her genuine desire to help shone through. Her spirit will live on in the memories she leaves behind-her remarkable wit, her boundless compassion, and her bright, radiant personality that lit up every room she entered. Emily embodied the very best of what it means to love deeply, laugh loudly, and live fully. Her absence is a great loss, but her legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Please join us as we honor the life of our beloved Emily at the (Harris Hill Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8440 Main St. (near Harris Hill Rd.) on Monday from 2-4 & 5-9PM, where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday from Zion Lutheran Church, 9535 Clarence Center Rd., Clarence Center, NY 14032 at 11AM. Please assemble at church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Ten Lives Club, an organization that was close to Emily's heart, as a tribute to her love for her cats and the many animals she cared for.
