Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, 11:00 AM at Miller's Chapel, 608 St. Phillips St., Selma, AL.
Obituary
Emily Grace Johnson was born on August 10, 1969 in Selma, Alabama, to the parents of Sam Johnson Jr and Daisy Johnson (Foot Soldier in the 60's). Emily departed from this earthly life on June 21, 2025 at her residence in Selma, Alabama. Emily was preceded in death by her Father, Sam Johnson Jr, Mother, Daisy Johnson and brother, Kenneth Stanley Johnson.
Emily confessed Jesus Christ at an early age and joined West Trinity Baptist Church of Selma, Alabama under the leadership of Pastor Aquilla Williams.
Emily attended the Catholic School of what we would now consider as Middle in Selma. She completed her high school academic work and received her high school diploma from Selma High School. She applied and was accepted into the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where she obtained her Bachelor Degree. After graduating she worked for a while but volunteered to be a caretaker for her mother who had fallen into a state of poor health.
Emily is survived by a brother, Kelvin Louis Mitchell Sr (Alesics Mitchell) of Madison, AL numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
