Emily Smith Obituary
Emily N. Smith, age 38, of Circleville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in Jeffersonville, Ohio. Emily was born on August 27, 1987, to the late Ben and Delilah (Certain) Smith in Columbus, Ohio. Emily had previously worked at Gap Inc. Distribution Center in Groveport, Ohio.
Emily is preceded in death by both of her parents and is survived by her husband, Merle E. Cathel Jr.; children, Gayden Crabtree, Delilah Crabtree, and Merle Cathel III; stepchildren, Joseph, Brooklyn and Emma Cathel; and brother, Michael Smith.
Cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, Ohio. Condolences can be offered online at www.olivercheekfuneralhome.com
