Emma H Pendergrass

Emma passed away on 09/28/2025 at her home in Ft. McCoy, Florida, surrounded by her family and friends. Emma was raised in Pahokee at the pump station for Lake Okeechobee where her parents Gladys Brantley and Bennet Christopher Hare raised seven children and ran the pump station. This is where Emma got her love for fishing and gardening that carried on through her life. She was also an avid card player and enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. Emma is preceded in death by her parents Gladys and Bennet Christopher, her infant daughter Kathy Ann, her husband Jerry Pendergrass, and her siblings Little Joe, Toby, BC, Hubert, Kathryn and Effie. Emma is survived by her children Danny Keith and his wife Betty, Joyce Ann and her husband Donald and Charlotte Ann and her husband John as well as 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Pat Carter and her husband Mitch, Marjorie Hine and her husband Gary and John Amerson and his wife Stacy as well as many nieces and nephews. She was well loved. Emma's legacy of kindness, strength and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
