Emma Peru

Rosa "Emma" Peru; a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 23, 2023, at TMC Peppi's House Hospice Care, surrounded by her loving family. She was 76.
Emma was born January 28, 1947, in Ejido La Nortena, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Augustin and Luz Montes. Emma was the fourth of twelve children.
Emma came to the States in 1964, where her and her late husband, Howard Rawls, settled in Safford. They welcomed their only child, Lorie, in January of 1967. After the passing of her first husband, she met the love of her life, Larry, in 1991. Together they shared two grandchildren, Zachary and Savannah, as well as eight great-grandchildren.
Emma lived her life with so much passion as a mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending her days surrounded by her family. Together they shared countless memories of river trips, fishing and hunting, and sitting around a campfire.
Emma is preceded in death by: her parents, and two older siblings. She is survived by: her husband, daughter, grandkids, and great-grandkids, as well as 9 siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Emma will be celebrated Friday, May 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Nicodemus Shaghel.
A rosary and prayers will be offered Friday, May 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Family will receive friends Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home.
