Emma Sue Smith was born May 19, 1940 in Stantonville, TN the daughter of the late Elmer and Allean Wyatt Surratt.
She was united in marriage to Dale Smith on February 17, 1961.
Mrs. Smith retired as cafeteria manager from Adamsville Jr/Sr High School, a job that she loved. She later went to work at Adamsville Public Library and up until February of 2023 she was working at Adamsville Senior Center. She loved being around people and helping others.
Her yard work, tending to her flowers , and working in the garden brought her great joy - because she loved being outside. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Adamsville.
Mrs. Smith departed this life on November 6, 2023 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 5 Months, 18 Days. She is survived by her husband, Dale Smith of Adamsville, TN; daughter, Shelia Harris and husband Chris of Columbia, TN; daughter-in-law, Delores Smith of Bethel Springs, TN; four grandchildren, Korey Harris of Spring Hill, TN, Deanna Littlejohn and husband Jacob of Millington, TN, Allissa Cook and husband Trey of Jackson, TN, Jared Smith of Adamsville, TN; a great-grandchild, Oliver Cook of Jackson, TN; two brothers, Donald Surratt of Stantonville, TN, Billy Surratt and wife Joyce of Stantonville, TN; sister, Betty Smith and husband Danny of Adamsville, TN; sister-in-law, Linda Wilkerson of Adamsville, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two sons, James Smith and wife Kristi, Larry Smith; a brother, Charles Surratt.
The family kindly requests donations in Mrs. Emma Sue Smith's honor to the West Shiloh Cemetery fund, 282 W. Shiloh Church Rd, Stantonville, TN 38379
