Chauvin Funeral Home & Crematory - HoumaIt is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Emma Ann Theriot, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on November 28, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on November 11, 1941, in Houma, Louisiana, Emma devoted her life to her family and community. She will be lovingly remembered for her nurturing spirit, unwavering faith, and the countless lives she touched throughout her lifetime.
Emma was a dedicated homemaker and a steadfast parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith. A true prayer warrior, she fervently interceded for her loved ones and embraced her spirituality with sincere devotion. Emma adored her sons, Glenn (Holly) and Wayne (Lisa) Theriot, and found immense joy in the company of her grandchildren, Anna (Jake) Porche, Noah Theriot, Bailey Theriot, Caroline Theriot; anxiously awaiting her first great grandson, Eli Porche; brother, Donald Pitre.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Theriot; parents, Annie Pitre and Murphy Pitre;
An avid gardener, Emma enjoyed tending to her flower garden, nurturing beauty and tranquility that mirrored her gentle spirit. She relished yearly trips with her close friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Emma enjoyed a wonderful 51 years of marriage to her late husband, Lynn Theriot, with whom she is now reunited in eternal rest.
The funeral services honoring Emma's life will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Monday, December 1, 2025, beginning at 8:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate her remarkable life-a life enriched by love, faith, and compassion.
As we mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing that Emma has returned to the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May her soul rest in peace.
The family would like to thank her closest friends, Eulice Sparks-Tabor, Kay Stoufflet, Elsie Cantrelle, and the late Janice F. Powell. The family would also like to thank the staff at Heritage Manor and Haydel Memorial Hospice for their compassionate care.
