Martha Emma Lee Draime Weldy was born 7/3/1937 in Mobile AL to Martha Williams Draime and William Henry Draime. She joined her many loved ones in heaven on June 4th, 2025. Emma Lee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over forty years, Orville Wayne Weldy, Sr and her three sons, Orville Wayne Weldy, Jr., William Keith Weldy and Marshall Leslie Weldy, and several brothers-in-law. She is survived by her best friends and beloved sisters with whom she was very close, Janet Clarke and Betty Silvey (and Betty's children Lee (Jim) Brown and Michael (Beth) Godwin whose families meant a great deal to her), Daughter-in-law, Kanja Weldy, with whom she had a very close and special relationship, Daughter-in-law Laura Weldy, grandchildren Adam (Carrie) Weldy, Angela (Robert) Lambert, Andy Weldy, Raven (Jose) Barrientos, Drew (Allie) Weldy and Blake Weldy, who shared a special bond with his Mamaw and was a source of great joy and comfort to her, cherished in-laws that she also loved deeply, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Emma Lee graduated from Murphy High School. She worked many years as a librarian and retired from Mobile County Public Schools. Emma lee and Wayne enjoyed fishing and crabbing and spending time with family on the Bay. Emma Lee was an avid sports fan who loved the Atlanta Braves and the Alabama Crimson Tide. She loved animals and never left a stray hungry. Emma Lee endured much loss and even in the face of great sorrow, she remained steadfast in her faith. May we find comfort in knowing that she has reunited with her husband and children and is in the loving embrace of God. Graveside services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 2pm June 17th, 2025. Visitation will be held prior to the burial at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 1:00 - 2:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to local animal rescue shelters.
