Emmanuel "Manny" Lyle Roddy, 40, of Mooresville, and formerly of Manistique, MI, tragically left this world unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. He was born in Manistique on November 27, 1984, to Timothy Patrick and Loris Mary (McManus) Roddy.
Growing up in the rural wilderness and natural beauty of Michigan's upper peninsula, Manny was the youngest of two children, and the only son. He proudly graduated with the class of 2003 from Manistique High School, and upon graduation, he packed his bags and headed south where he planted roots in Mooresville to attend the Job Core for training. Initially securing employment with Menards in Camby, he found his niche at Lowe's Warehouse in Plainfield, working as a forklift operator and logistics specialist for the last 15 years.
A member of the First United Methodist Church of Mooresville, Manny helped with children's ministries, and he never turned down the opportunity to volunteer, assisting those in need. In the last three months, he found Christ, read his Bible daily, and finally found himself worthy; he served and loved without hesitation. The example Manny set made those around him want to be a better person.
Adventurous at heart, Manny was known to go cliff diving, hiking, and was a power lifter at Core Fitness. He truly loved music of all kinds and regularly listened to jammed out to his favorite tunes. He treasured his family immensely, had a wide and tight circle of friends, and would give the shirt off his back when needed. He adored animals, especially his feline friends, and was loved by all who knew him. A beautiful human being through and through, he was as pure as they came, and he could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Leaving this world all too soon, he left an indelible mark on those around him and will be forever missed but never forgotten!
Manny was preceded in death by his father, Timothy Roddy. He leaves behind his mother, Loris Roddy of Manistique, MI; sister, Julie Toennessfen (Andy) of Manistique, MI; uncles, Leland McManus (Gloria) of Woodlands, TX, David Roddy of Manistique, MI, and Ed Roddy of Menomonee Falls, WI; several cousins; and his kitty cat, Azuka.
