Funeral services for Mr. Emmett "Rat" Smith, Jr., of Dublin, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1PM, at the Pinehill Christian Church, 2908 Fountain Road in Cadwell, Georgia. Interment will follow in the New Providence Baptist Church in Cadwell.

Emmett Smith was born on August 2, 1946, to the late Mrs. Viola King Adams and the late Mr. Emmett Smith, Sr. in Cadwell, Laurens County, Georgia.

Most of his life was spent in Laurens County. Emmett joined the Pinehill Christian Church at an early age and remained there until he received his final call. During Emmett's life he work many jobs including industrial farming and being a bus driver for the Laurens County Schools.

Mr. Smith passed away on January 21,2026. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Mr. Clarence "Buck" Adams " who he loved very much as if he were his father; three sisters, Mrs. Florine Walker, Mrs. Arleatha Turner, Miss Winnie Mae Adams; one brother, Mr. Willie B. "Bubba" Adams, and a devoted friend, Beverly White.

Mr. Smith leaves to cherish his memories to a daughter, Miss Sarah Mona Smith of Dublin, GA; one sister, Mrs. Vera Gant of Hallandale, FL; one granddaughter, Latashia Darrisaw of Dublin, GA; three nephews, Mr. Ricky Webb of Roanoke, Virginia, Mr. Mackel (Ann) Webb of Lexington, KT and Mr. Andrew Turner of Lake Mary, FL; one brother-in-law, Mr. Charles Turner also of Lake Mary, FL; one aunt, Lillie Mae Harper, Plymouth, FL; one godson, Roverto McCloud of Detroit, MI, and a host of other relatives and friends, including a devoted cousins, Mr. Lee W. King of St. Petersburgh, FL, Lawyer King, Jr., of Dublin, GA, Ruby (Elijah) Jordan of Chauncey, GA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
