Emmitt Eugene Parrish Jr.

Emmitt Eugene Parrish, Jr. The story of a life. Emmitt was born on March 26th, 1947, at LBJ hospital in Houston, Texas to Katherine Rushing and Emmitt Eugene Parrish Sr. He had the typical childhood. He grew up in the Heights. He went on to graduate from John H Reagan Senior High School in 1966. He had a love of sports, mainly football and fast pitch softball. Spent one year at Houston Baptist college. He then got a job at the local woolco. Soon after a friend set him up on a blind date with a local young lady named Frances Mikulin. Not long after they decided to get married and as most stories go a bundle soon arrived their only child Paul E Parrish. Once Paul arrived Emmitt found his lifelong job working at the General Electric ED&C plant in Houston. Where he retired after 38 years. Along the way he developed a love for hunting and fishing. He would spend many a weekend on the dock at the Parrish's lake house in Riverside Texas. Spent other days hunting and fishing on the Plowman ranch in Gonzales Texas, along with his wife and son. Emmitt also played fast pitch softball for the General Electric factory team. Emmitt enjoyed being around family and friends taking much joy from all the holidays spent with them. On October 28th, 2020, Emmitt lost the love of his life to cancer. Not long after her loss Emmitt came to live with his son and daughter in law at their home. Unfortunately, Emmitt was diagnosed with Leukemia in January 2024. He fought Leukemia all the way up to the day of June 26th, 2025 where he lost the fight. Passing at home with his family around him. Emmitt was preceded in death by his wife Frances Rose Parrish. His mother Katherine Rushing Parrish and his father Emmit Eugene Parrish Sr. He is survived by his Son Paul Eugene Parrish, his daughter in law Kristy Lynn Parrish. His Granddaughters Alexis and Brooklynn. His sister Gail Wofford. His brother-in-law Paul Mikulin, and Sister-in-law Dianah Mikulin. His Nieces Tabatha Kelley and Shelli Peirce. Nephews Anthony J Mikulin, Mark E Mikulin, David G Wofford, and James Edward's. Numerous cousins. Emmitt will be remembered by all who loved him and all who knew him.
