Emogene Roberts Adkins was born on September 6, 1936 in Williamson, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Floyd and Mary Preston Roberts.
On June 6, 1952, she was united in marriage to Ulan Adkins, who preceded his wife in death on September 3, 2008.
Emogene was a member of the daughters of Destiny, ladies ministry and Hardin Medical Center Auxiliary "Pink Ladies" volunteer. She was a den mother and Hardin County Team Leader for the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. She was a member of Savannah Church of God, where she also served as a Sunday School teacher and church clerk for 13 years. She worked as a lab specialist for Basic Industries, stylist for BeeLine Fashions, and assistant manager for Pizza Hut. Emogene loved to work with flowers and bake and cook for her family and friends.
Emogene Roberts Adkins departed this life on November 22, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 88 years, 2 months, and 16 days.
She is survived by her sons, Floyd Allen Adkins (Mary Beth) and Brian Edward Adkins (Pamela Jo); brother, Winston D. Roberts; grandchildren, Brandy Pierce, Allen Adkins, Jocey McKinney, Breanna DuBose, and Canaan Adkins; and great grandchildren, Alli Pierce, Emma Pierce, Molly Pierce, Karson Adkins, Kameron Adkins, Mac McKinney, Emily DuBose, Leah DuBose, and Joshua DuBose.
In addition to her parents and husband, Emogene was preceded in death by her son, Charles Ulan Adkins; brothers, Boe Roberts, Harold Roberts and Garcie Roberts; and sisters, Peggy Jacobson, Ellawease Price and Frances Lawson.
