Emogene Davis Cogar Salisbury, age 100, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Emogene was born November 24, 1924, in Kovan, WV to the late Nathan and Ada Williams Davis.
Emogene married the love of her life Earl on October 29, 1942. They began their journey together in Desert Fork, enjoying each other and raising a family. Even though the times were hard this was the happiest time of her life.
Emogene spent her life loving and caring for her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading books and the Bible, working puzzles, working with her flowers and caring for her chickens and dog. She always looked forward to her family members coming to visit. Emogene was a Christian and could discuss religion with people of all faiths.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl, her second husband, W.J. Salisbury, daughter, Retta Jean Townsend, son in law Mitchell Silman, daughter in law Darlene Cogar, grandson David Cogar and great grandson Trace Hall. She was also preceded in death by brothers Herbert, Hobart, Henry and Carl Davis and sisters, Virginia Douglas, Dorine Barbe, Luie Ware, Alta McIe and Genevieve Pugh.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Delmas Cogar of FL, Bill Cogar & Zack Hall of Webster Springs, Guy (Becky) Cogar of Webster Springs, Mike (Tammy) Cogar of Ohio, Paul (Agnes) Cogar of Webster Springs, Karen (Stevie) Jordan of Hacker Valley, Ross (Tena) Cogar of Webster Springs, Larry Cogar of Webster Springs, Mary (Randy) Peace of North Carolina, 23 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.
Service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, July 18, 2025, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Curt Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Cool Family Cemetery, Laurel Fork. Friends may join the family for visitation 6-9 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
