This eulogy was written by Enrique's brother, Ricardo Correal
Today, as we gather to honor my brother's life, Jose Enrique Correal Trivino, I say before you filled with immense gratitude and love-gratitude for the man he was, and love for all that he gave, often quietly and always wholeheartedly.
When our parents were not there, my brother stepped into a role that few could bear with such dignity. He became my guide, my protector, and in many ways, my father. He gave structure where there was uncertainty, hope where there was hardship, and love when it was needed most. His strength was never loud or boastful-it was steady, humble, and deeply rooted in faith and conviction.
He lived by a moral compass that never wavered. My brother believed that doing good was not a choice but a duty. He embodied righteousness-not in words, but through action. Whether offering help to someone who had once turned away from him or giving when he had little to share, he remained true to his heart. He lived by a saying close to his Colombian roots: "Haz bien y no mires a quién"-do good, regardless of who benefits. And he did good every day of his life.
His character was a part of everything he did. It was in the warmth of his smile, the liveliness of his laughter, and the pride he took in family and community. His home was a reflection of that spirit-always open, always full of love, music, and the comfort that reminded us of where we come from.
He was not only my brother but a remarkable father to his two sons. He raised them with faith, patience, and dedication. He showed them what it means to be honorable men-firm in their convictions, gentle with others, and loyal to those they love. His sons carry his lessons within them, a living continuation of his values and his heart.
My brother's generosity extended beyond family. He had deep compassion for those who could offer him nothing in return. He did not measure worth by what people could give back; he gave because that was his nature-because he believed it was what God expected of him. His life was one of service, humility, and quiet heroism.
Though his earthly journey has ended, his spirit remains alive in us. His love, faith, and example continue to shape the way we live and love each other. To have known him was to have known grace in its purest form.
And so, as we entrust his soul to God, let us pray for his eternal peace:
"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen."
"May the Lord embrace him in His mercy and welcome him into His heavenly home, where there is no sorrow, only light and love everlasting."
Go with God, my brother. You have earned your place in His arms.
