Enrique Zuniga Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Oct. 29, 2025.
Enrique Zuniga Jr passed from his life, in the arms of God on October 27, 2025. Enrique was born May 19, 1969 to Mary Enriquez and Enrique Zuniga Sr. He was born in Oklahoma City where he grew up and later turned into his stomping grounds.
Enrique graduated from Capitol Hill High school in 1987. He was a very hardworking man as he was a man of very many skills. He held autobody close to his heart as his love for cars expanded into being such a passionate part of his life. Enrique went on to be a warehouse supervisor at Americold for nearly thirty years. He was a dedicated and strong-minded boss who only wanted the best for his crew, who were not only his coworkers, but some of his dearest friends too.
Enrique's love for football ran deep as he was a proud Sooner fan. Every Saturday, without a doubt, he would enjoy watching OU football and would often grill something tasty. OU football became a huge part of his life as he grew up and began to watch games with his uncles and cousins. From his tailgates to his house parties, his celebrations will forever be remembered. Enrique liked to celebrate and have a good time when it came to any of his favorite teams. He had much love for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and he was also a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, and never once was ashamed to admit it.
Enrique loved music and enjoyed artists such as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, KISS, Zapp & Roger, SPM and many more. More specifically, he cherished cruising around in his 1964 Chevy Impala blasting oldies. With over 25 years of owning his car, he loved his lowrider more than words could describe. He was involved in multiple car clubs throughout his life such as, Matrix, Reflections, Riverside, and Solo Riders. Enrique's legacy will continue to live on as he passed as a club member of the Oklahoma City chapter of the Impalas car club.
He is survived by his three daughters, Marissa Rivera, Alyssia Zuniga-Downing and Monica Zuniga. And by his three sons, Raymond Fernandez, Alex Rivera and Robert Rivera. Enrique married their mother; Connie Rivera – Zuniga and they were together for seventeen years. Enrique was a proud grandfather to Juan, Gabriel, Saul, Izabella, Cason, Isabel, Noel, Mia and Adrian. He was also a proud pet owner and loved his Chihuahua, Chuco who was his favorite furry friend. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Enrique, please visit our floral store.
