Erasmo Solis

Erasmo Solis Sr., of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away at home on Monday, November 17th, 2025 at the age of 78.

Erasmo Solis was born on March 4th, 1947 in McAllen, Texas, to parents Emilia and Pedro Solis. He grew up in Florida and traveled around. He worked with his dad doing farm work and other jobs, learning many different skills. Erasmo resided in Elsa, Texas, and was a truck driver for a fuel company. Erasmo moved to Wilmar, Minnesota, around 1989 where he lived until he moved to East Grand Forks after the flood. He has been a resident here ever since.

Erasmo loved country music, wrestling, and discussing the news. He enjoyed traveling, especially his drives to Texas. Erasmo was a social person who loved to interact with people, whether he was entertaining a crowd or talking to you on the phone for hours. He was a jokester and story teller with an abundance of memories to share. Erasmo was young at heart - "Uncle Joe" will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ruben Solis; parents, Emilia and Pedro Solis Sr.; siblings, Rogelio Solis, Pedro Solis Jr, Guadalupe Solis, Juana Solis, and Francisco Solis; and great-grandson, Adrian "Angel" Solis.

Erasmo is survived by his children, Sylvia Solis of El Campo, TX, Erasmo Solis Jr. of El Campo, TX, Raymond Solis of Lubbock, TX, Ricardo (Melissa) Solis of Naples, FL, Erica (Don) Solis of Grand Forks, ND, Cynthia Solis of Indiana, Joel (Christina) Solis of Weslaco, TX, and Grace Solis of Weslaco, TX; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Jose Solis, Lionel Solis, and Ralph Solis; and many nieces & nephews.

VISITATION is from 3:00pm - 5:00pm, with a FUNERAL SERVICE at 5:00pm, on Monday, November 24th, 2025 at Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Avenue NW, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
