Eric Brown. Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home - Columbia on Dec. 22, 2024.
Eric Troy Brown, Jr. was born September 4, 1998, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of Eric Troy Brown, Sr. and Octavia Jones; and grandson of the late John and Bernetta A. Jones and Roosevelt Hopkins and Jessie Mae Brown. On Sunday, December 15, 2024, Eric received his call from the Lord and peacefully left his earthly home to join his heavenly father.
"TJ", as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland School District Two graduating from Richland Northeast High School. During his tenure at Richland Northeast, he was an avid football player, as well as a dynamic baseball player for the Cavaliers. After graduation he was employed with Spur Merchandising in Columbia, South Carolina.
TJ's hobbies included fishing, breeding dogs, and playing video games. But most of all, he loved his cousins and spending time with them, and they loved him. TJ loved people and he never met a stranger. Though he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all those who loved and knew him.
In addition to his grandparents, TJ was also preceded in death by his uncle, Richard Brown; and his aunt, Deborah E. Jordan.
Those who are cherishing his fond and precious memories are his parents, Troy, Sr. and Octavia; eight aunts, Cheryl (Alphonso) Wilson, Joan Goodwin, Conchitha Jones, Peal Alford, Iris Jones and LaRhonda Jones, all of Columbia, SC, Julia Hall of Charlotte, NC, and Pamela Brandley of Rock Hill, SC; four uncles, John (Debbie) Jones of West Palm Beach, FL, Michael (Lydia) Jones, Thomas Jones, both of Columbia, SC, and Ken (Janelle) Brown of Atlanta, GA; and host of loving and devoted cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by his untimely departure.
