Eric Browning

1967 - 2025

Eric Lloyd Browning, 57, of St. Anthony, Idaho, passed away July 24, 2025, at his home in Shelley, Idaho.

Eric was born September 24, 1967, in McCall, Idaho, to Jerry Vaughn Browning and Karen Lloyd Browning. He grew up and attended schools in St. Anthony and graduated from South Fremont High School. He also attended Ricks College (BYU-I) and Utah State University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing.

On December 18, 1989, he married Jana Eliason of American Fork, Utah, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together, they have eight children, and raised them throughout Utah, Southern California, Boise, and Eastern Idaho. Early in his career, he was in sales and marketing. He was a business owner for multiple ventures, including Fin Fun.

Eric was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was always found serving. His love for people propelled his passions of family history and missionary work. He served as a missionary in Barcelona, Spain from 1986-1988, and continued his missionary labors with Jana as the leaders of the Arizona Tucson Mission from 2017-2020. He also served as a Stake President in the Shelley, Idaho South Stake.

Eric was very involved with his children and grandchildren. He filled the room with enthusiastic energy and a bright smile, and no one was a stranger to him. He was a driven individual who always worked to accomplish his goals, and a master negotiator which launched him in his business career.

The last years of Eric's life were spent with his grandkids in Arizona and Idaho, who were "literally the sunshine of his life." He also loved working in his yard, starting new ventures with his sons, and traveling with Jana.

Eric is survived by his wife, Jana Eliason Browning; children, Brooks (Megan), Tanner (Caitlyn), Joshua (Caitlin), Madison (Jace Lamoreaux), Alex (Skylar), Emma, Preston, and Julia Browning; 14 grandchildren; his parents, Jerry and Karen Browning; and his siblings, Susan, Steve, Amy, Becky, Jared, and Curtis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Shelley South Stake Center, 675 South Milton Avenue. The family will visit with friends Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Both visitations will be at the church. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.
