Mr. Eric Woodrow Colston Sr., 66, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on January 20, 2026. He was the son of Willie and Johnetta Nevada Colston (Crenshaw).

Eric was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 24, 1959, at Cook County Hospital. Eric was raised in Pensacola, Florida where he was confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in 1975 and graduated from Woodham High in 1977.

Upon leaving Pensacola, Eric lived in several U.S. cities and Bamburg, Germany, before settling in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Willie Colston Sr., brother, Adrian Willard Colston, Sr., maternal grandparents, Frederick LaRue and Christine Laura Crenshaw (Bell), and paternal grandparents, Herbert Colston and Lela Belle Jones (Grigsby).

Eric leaves to cherish his memories; four children: Eric Woodrow Jr. of Pensacola, Florida, Clarice Mary-Johnetta, Zarina Antonette, both of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Eriquea Christene Colston of Hickory, North Carolina; his mother, Johnetta Crenshaw Colston, sister, Andrea "Ann" Willnette Colston, both of Pensacola, Florida; two brothers: Carl Antony of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Willie Colston, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a special cousin, Glenn Allen Colston of Pensacola, Florida. Eric is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A private family gathering occurred on January 23 and a cremation will occur on February 1, both performed at Tribute & Tallent Funeral Home located in Charlotte, North Carolina
