I learned only on the 4th he was in the hospital & in a coma (I didn't have any further details). I was hoping to find out a number to reach him once he recovered...I had no idea the extent of what assailed him. He came to visit me after my car accident in 2004 in the hospital that first week -- I was so drugged up & in pain I didn't know half the people in my room between moments of consciousness, yet, to this day, I remember seeing Eric's face when I woke soon after surgery. It meant a lot to me -- meant a lot for someone, in all reality, he barely knew and vice versa. Yet we were family. Family means a lot. I believe he thought the same. I just wish I could've been there to visit him for a moment before he left.
