Mr. Eric Christopher Cook, age 51 of Mooresboro, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 29, 2024.
He is survived by parents, Noel Cook (Glenda) of Casar, NC, and Chris Blanton (David) of Mooresboro, NC, a sister, Halie Roxanne Gulledge (Kyle) of Hartsville, SC, and their children, Riley Faith Gulledge and Kinsley Taylor Gulledge, a special friend and caregiver, Christopher Garren of Mooresboro, NC.
Born May 27, 1972, in Cleveland County, NC, Eric was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Loy Buren Cook and wife Dorothy “Dot” Cook, his maternal grandfather, James Henry Ramsey, his maternal grandmother Melba Lorraine Cook and husband Richard.
Eric served in the United States Air Force as an Electric Power Production Specialist stationed at Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC. He proudly served during Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. Eric was the kind of person that would give the shirt off his back even without asking. This kind of selflessness led him to become an organ donor, which ended up helping many others that needed it. Eric enjoyed listing to loud music, playing with his canine companions, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Sandy Run Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Queen. A visitation will be held from 1:00pm – 2:00pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
