Eric Carl Dresser
September 27, 1954 – September 28, 2024
CLEVELAND, NY – Eric Carl Dresser, son of Carl and Mary (Simpson) Dresser, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, one day after his 70th birthday at Bethany Gardens Rehabilitation Center in Rome, NY. He was born in Rome Hospital on September 27, 1954 and resided in the Central New York area for all of his life. He attended VVS High School, where he enjoyed football and wrestling.
He worked for Rome cable for 13 years before going on to work for Verizon phone company for ten years. During his working years, his hobbies included Archery, fishing and hunting. He gave up hunting to photograph flora and fauna of Central New York and the Adirondacks. His photos appeared in publications such as Adirondack Life, Ranger Rick, The Conservationist and more. He shared his photos with advertising companies, made slide shows and taught photography at seminars in the Adirondacks and at his home. It was truly his passion. His photos were also featured on calendars and postcards. He had a book published titled "Wildlife Images of the Adirondacks." He also featured his thousands of photos on a very successful website.
This gentle and kind man is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his sister, Diane Dresser (Timothy) Parkin, of Ohio; a nephew, Jeffrey Parkin, of NC; a niece, Dr. Carla Joseph Parkin (Dr. Steven Joseph); and two great-nieces and a great-nephew, all of Michigan. He is also survived by everyone who knew him and called him a friend.
There are no services planned at this time. Arrangements are in care of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Donations can be made to the Central New York Alzheimer's Association.
The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude and appreciation to Bethany Gardens for their care and compassion shown to Eric and his family by the entire staff, from the desk personnel to dietary, therapy, admissions coordinator (Pam), social worker (Kristina), nurses Michelle and Beth and all the CNA's who treated us like family.
