Eric Evers Obituary

Eric I. Evers, age 78, of Dubuque, passed away peacefully at 1:10 a.m., on Friday, Decembe 1, 2023, at Stonehill Health Center. To honor Eric's life private family services were held. Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street is assisting Eric's family.
Eric was born on February 21, 1945, in Providence, RI, son of E. Charles and Elaine (Hostler) Evers.
Eric proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, where his unit was awarded the President Valor Award for their service. He later graduated from Drexel University with his Civil Engineering Degree and owned and operated his own business, Evers Association, in New Jersey for several years. Eric married Jeanette Bevan in 1986 in Pennsylvania. Sadly she preceded him in death on March 29, 2005. He was a member of Dubuque Bible Church, the National Rifle Association as well as the Knights of Columbus and the Single Action Shooting Society in New Jersey. Eric had many interests and hobbies including cars, rifles, fishing and reading. He also helped his sister with her vegetable garden in his later years. Eric's family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them whenever he was able. He will be greatly missed.

5 grandchildren,
Joseph, Angel, Rosie, Guinivere and Garrett;
2 great-grandchildren,
Eleanor and Bentley;
3 siblings,
Sonya (Paul) Spivey, Asbury, IA,
Christine Finn, Sicklerville, NJ
and Melanie (Dave) Leathers, Warner, NH;
and several nieces and nephews.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanette Evers; a grandson, Eric Jones; a brother, Charles Evers; and a brother-in-law, Patrick Finn.
Eric's family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff of both Stonehill and Hospice of Dubuque for the wonderful care they have provided for Eric.
