Death Notice

Eric Christopher Feinstein

1972 - 2022

MADISON - Eric Christopher Feinstein, loving husband and devoted father, died suddenly on December 29, 2022.
Born in Ashtabula, Ohio, Eric grew up in Medina, Ohio before the family moved to Homewood, Illinois. Eric graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School in 1990 and later moved to Madison, WI in 1994. Eric held several positions within the hospitality industry and also served as a volunteer firefighter for the Middleton Fire Department. Eric truly had a one-of-a-kind personality that people gravitated to and had the unique ability to connect with everyone he met. This made him uniquely successful in customer service and sales management. He held positions at Marriott - Madison West, The Fluno Center, US Cellular, Verizon Wireless and most recently at Humana.
It was during his employment at the Marriott Madison West that Eric met the love of his life, Marlene Lintelmann. They married on August 1, 2003. Eric and Marlene loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards, pool and games. To Eric, everything was a competition regardless of whether it required athletic ability.
Eric's life was forever changed when his oldest son Caden was born in May, 2006, followed by Carson in December, 2009. Eric's life revolved around his boys, and they did everything together. "It's like having your best friend with you everyday" Eric would regularly say as he taught his boys how to play football, go fishing, ride bikes, and how to recognize and appreciate the hilarity of everyday life. His boys learned at an early age that his beloved Chicago Bears were a far superior team to Marlene's Green Bay Packers, even when the record didn't reflect it. Eric loved watching his boys compete in soccer, football and hockey. He was a true hockey dad, spending every weekend at games with one of the boys while watching a live-stream of the other's games.
Eric is survived by his wife, Marlene, his sons Caden and Carson, his faithful canine companion Ellie, his mom Joan (Terry) Rogers, his dad Joel (Mary Prusank) Feinstein, his father-in-law Fred (Karen Thorp) Lintelmann, his siblings Jennifer (Kevin) Stevens, Ron (Holly Addis) Feinstein, Amy Feinstein, Sarah (Chris) DeFosset, Emily (Joe Kaufman) Feinstein, Jessica (Josh) Rutherford, Sam Feinstein, Manuel Rogers, his brothers-in-law Bob (Jennifer) Lintelmann, Dale (Terry D'Angelo) Lintelmann and Randy (Kathy Konicheck) Cacic, his beloved nieces and nephews Hannah Feinstein, Jon, Beth and Josh Stevens, Jakob and Mollie DeFosset, Rachael and Ethan Feinstein, Max and Caroline Kaufman, Magnus Rutherford, Brian (Morgan) Cacic, Anna (David) Haverberg and Katie (Taylor Kerber) Lintelmann, his grand niece and nephew Avery and Brewer Cacic, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Jeanne Hlavac, his Bubie and Zadie, Sara and Sherman Feinstein, his mother-in-law Joanne Lintelmann, his sisters-in-law Karen Cacic and Diane Lintelmann and his nephew TJ Stevens.
