Eric Fellinger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Jan. 3, 2026.
Eric Carl Fellinger of Pawleys Island, SC, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 26, 2025. He was born in Queens, NY, and always felt a great fondness for Astoria, where he spent his childhood.

Above all else, Eric was a devoted husband. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Meyer Fellinger (March 25, 1936 – April 10, 2024), the great love of his life. Married for 68 years, their courtship began at Dorothy's sweet sixteen party. Through the years, their partnership was defined by devotion, loyalty, and shared purpose. Their marriage was the central story of Eric's life, shaping his values and grounding everything he did. Even after Dorothy's passing, her presence remained constant in his heart.

Eric pursued his education at Syracuse University, where he completed ROTC training while majoring in Business and Forestry. He went on to serve in the United States Army as a tank platoon leader, completing his service as a First Lieutenant while stationed in Germany. His military service reflected his deep sense of duty, discipline, and order-qualities that served him throughout his life.

After the service, Eric found success with the Georgia Pacific Corporation, where he went on to become of their top sales representatives and, later, one of their most successful distribution managers in both Lancaster, PA and Syosset, NY.

Together, Eric and Dorothy raised their two children, Leif Eric Fellinger (Nancy) and Elise Fellinger Henry (Raymond), and built a family that grew to include four grandchildren-James Fellinger, Lauren Clark, Rachel Henry, and Matthew Henry-and two great-grandchildren, Henry Fellinger and Ella Clark. Eric took immense pride in his family and found his greatest joy in the generations that followed from the life he and Dorothy built side by side.

Eric will be remembered for his steadfast service, quiet strength, and, most of all, his enduring love for his wife and family.

The family will hold a private memorial service.
