Eric Michael Franklin passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 55. Eric was born on August 3, 1969, in
Austin, Texas, to Vicki (Franklin) Fulford and Ellis Davila.
In 1977, Eric moved to Dripping Springs where he enjoyed life on a small ranch with his grandparents, Charles "Sonny" Franklin and Betty JoAn Franklin. Their influence on his life was profound and lasting.
Eric considered Dripping Springs as his hometown. He graduated from Dripping Springs High School in 1987. Following high school, he accepted a baseball scholarship at the University of Texas at El Paso. He studied at The University of Texas at Austin and graduated from Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business in 2007.
He began his career in the banking sector, but his true calling was in real estate and financial services. Over the course of more than three decades, Eric's expertise and commitment to excellence propelled him into Vice President positions at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, First Horizon Wealth Management, and JP Morgan Chase Wealth Management. He was a Certified Financial Planner at various prestigious banks and investment brokerages as well. His most recent tenure with Keller Williams Realty was marked by the same dedication and success that characterized his entire career.
Family was the cornerstone of Eric's life. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Katelyn Ivy Franklin, who inherited her father's intelligence and kind spirit. Eric's legacy also lives on through his cherished grandchildren, Porter and Parker Robles, who brought immense joy and pride to his later years.
Eric had diverse interests. He loved the outdoors. He was happiest when he was near the water or exploring the vast beauty of ranches. Many will remember him for his incredible fishing and hunting tales and the countless hours spent sharing his love for the water with friends and family on his boat. Eric cared for his community. He was a candidate for City Council and served on the City Planning and Zoning Commission in Dripping Springs. He had a flare for cooking and advanced his culinary skills at Le Cordon Bleu. Eric was an incredible chef and enjoyed preparing meals for his friends and family.
Eric's life was one of connection and impact. He was a man who built relationships with ease and maintained them with sincerity and loyalty. His absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and colleagues.
Eric was preceded in death by his mother Vicki (Franklin) Fulford, half-brother Alex Davila, and his Grandparents Sonny and JoAn Franklin. He is survived by his daughter, Katelyn Franklin; dad Ellis Davila and wife Jann; half-sister Alicia Davila-Shukalo; half-brother Joel Davila; grandchildren Porter and Parker Robles; and many other loving family members.
There will be a celebration of life service at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail,
Austin, TX on Friday, January 17th at 11:30 a.m. Graveside services will be private.
