Eric Green Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hewett - Arney Funeral Home on Feb. 19, 2026.
Eric Duane Green, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026 at his home while working on one of his favorite hobbies, building and designing Star Trek model ships.

After graduating from Georgetown High School in 1986, Eric went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Texas State University. Following graduation, Eric returned to Georgetown where he built a life rooted in hard work and dedication. He worked as a security guard for nearly two decades, a role that reflected his dependable and protective nature. Eric coached soccer, his favorite sport, for many years with the Georgetown Soccer Association. In addition to coaching, Eric spent many years as a soccer referee for both youth and high school leagues.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Linda Green. He is survived by his loving family: his daughter, Casey McCartney (Joshua), his sisters, Jaclyn Green (John Donnallan) and Jessica Vance (David), four nieces, three nephews, and a host of cousins, two aunts, and one uncle. He was a proud grandfather to Samuel, Evelynn, and Emory, who brought him great joy.

Eric will be remembered for his reliability, loyalty to his family, and the steady presence he provided to those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. May he rest peacefully in the Final Frontier catching Pokémon.

Services are pending.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to express sympathy make a donation to Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation in Eric's memory.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with these arrangements.
