Eric Lee Morgan, a lifetime Alvin resident, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025 after a two-year battle with cancer that was nothing short of courageous. His family surrounded him in his final moments.

A generous and kind soul, Eric was a unique mix of quiet strength, playful wit, and tongue-in-cheek humor. At a young age, he had a natural talent for all sports, particularly football. He excelled on the field, displaying raw talent and unparalleled heart. By the time he graduated from high school, he had 12 scholarship offers to different colleges. He ultimately chose to enter the workforce after high school to stay close to his brothers. He began working for the City of Alvin Public Works Department in 2018 and proved himself as not just a hard worker but as a team player always willing to tackle the hardest, most complicated projects.

Those who knew him knew the driving force in his life was those he loved. He never missed an opportunity to be with his family, whether it be on a camping trip or at a celebration. He also loved playing video games, going to the movies, and eating King Buffet with his brothers. And, if it were a Sunday, he'd most likely be in his parents' backyard, surrounded by family, watching football, eating BBQ, cutting up with his brothers, doing "Eric math" while playing wahoo, and rattling off NFL stats.

It's also worth noting that Eric devoted his entire life to his family and friends. He was known as many things - son, brother, friend, co-worker, and teammate. And, he was called by many names by those closest to him - Big Easy, I Rock, Email, and E to name a few. But, it's arguable that his favorite name and his favorite role was as "Uncle Eric."

Eric's memory will be cherished every day and kept alive by his parents, Ed and Christine Morgan; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Amber Morgan, and their children, Edwin and Adeline; his brother and sister-in-law, Brandon and Lindsey Morgan, and their daughter, Malia; and countless beloved family and friends.

Eric is preceded in death by his grandmother, Diane Gonzalez; grandmother, Dorthy Morgan; and beloved friend, Adam Whatley.

The family sincerely thanks everyone for their love and support during this unimaginable, heartbreaking time. And, they invite those who attend the service to wear their favorite jersey in memory of Eric.

Flowers and gifts are welcomed and may be delivered to LS church between 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Thursday, August 14, 2025.
