Eric Leroy Schmidt Jr.

Our beloved Eric L. Schmidt, Jr. Boot a brother, uncle, friend, son of the late Doris Norman and Eric L. Schmidt, Sr. was born February 17, 1948, in Norfolk, Virginia. Eric peacefully departed from this world on December 21, 2025.

Eric was educated in the Norfolk Public School System. At the age of 19 he joined the United States Marine Corps. Eric was honorably discharged and became a disabled veteran. Eric was awarded numerous medals and received a Purple Heart for being wounded by enemy fire in the Vietnam War. Eric later became employed by Sunshine Trading Company for over 18 years Eric didnt have any biological children but became a father figure to many.

Eric was predeceased in death by his mother Doris Norman and his father Eric L. Schmidt, Sr., one sister Marilyn D. Taylor: one special friend Phyllis Evans.

Eric leaves to cherish his loving memory four sisters: Barbara Schmidt (Odis); Beverly Gaither (late Hank Gaither); Valerie Pollard, Edith Powell (Sammy); two brothers, Ronald Schmidt (Deon); Benjamin Schmidt (Pam); special godchildren, Takela Evans, KaLyn Evans, DaJon Evans, special nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of family and friends.

Goodbye is not forever. Goodbye is not the end. It simply means until we meet again.
