Just found out Rick passed away. Our paths diverged some years ago but I never forgot the times we spent together. We would drive around listening to to 8 tracks and eating Griff's french fries. we spent many nights bowling in many of the bowling alleys in town. We could spend most of a night playing and winning games on a pinball machine. He'll always be an important part of my life. God bless his soul.

The season of life is here
And the reason to live is clear
We've waited 'till who knows when
For the time to begin again
It's more than the change of time
It's something that's in all our minds
That no matter where or when
For endings are only
Places where all things begin
And the end is near
Of things we have grown to fear
We worry and reason why
With the times that change our lives
But more than the changing time
Is the image in all our minds
Of where it should be or when
For endings are always
Places where all things begin.
Peace & Love my thoughts'& prays are with during these changing times.

We were neighbors on Estelle and spent lots of time playing hide-and-go-seek, kick the can, and cops and robbers. I was in Kdg when Ricky had his brain tumor, so I'd get to go play cards with him after his surgery while the others were in school. He and my brother Danny were just 2 days apart in age and have traded many a baseball story. My Mom has Alzheimer's now, but yesterday out of the blue, she mentioned 'Johnny', Rick's Mom, and said she was coming by later. I believe that she was sensing my thoughts about Rick, although I had not told her about his passing. My siblings (Danny, Ted and Roseanne) and I send our love and prayers for all of you. We remember Rick so fondly.

So,sorry for your loss. Rick spoke at my dads funeral(Don Bowin), six years ago. Rick was a very special person to my dad, and I'm sure they have reconnected now and talking baseball and golf.

My condolences go out to Rick's family. I went to school with both Rod and Rick beginning in elementary school through high school. We spent many days playing baseball during the summer, memories that will last forever. My prayers are for comfort at this time and remembering the good times with family and friends. May God bless your family during this time.

Rick and I were friends during our Junior year at East High. We were both a bit socially awkward during that year so it was fn to hang out with him. He introduced me to golfing. I didn't stick with it but I know now that he made it a life long sport. I will always enjoy great memories of Rick and will remember his family in my prayers in the days and weeks ahead.

I hadn't seen Rick since high school, so we certainly weren't close, but I had a remembrance of and a fondness for him that I wanted to share. In high school, Rick was fun and funny, so he had a nice group of friends, but he always seemed a little awkward to me when he stepped out to the broader social groups. Not at all one of the "popular" kids. That was until he got on the baseball field. I guess many of his more recent friends may not have known of his love and talent for baseball. He was a left-handed pitcher, and for me, hitting off him was hell. Taking batting practice against Rick is how I learned what people mean when they talk about a pitcher's "stuff". Rick didn't throw that hard, but his pitches moved all over the place. He'd throw his fast ball on the outside corner and laugh as it naturally moved away from the right-handed hitters so far off the plate that there was little hope for contact. After that pitch, his curve ball, breaking over the INSIDE corner was impossible to hit. Rick loved to tease me after watching me whiff at a few, but he never eased up or gave me any kind of break.

I haven't known Rick since those days, but it's easy to see how he will be missed by many. I certainly have been having some sweet thoughts of my limited experiences with him. His life was far too short.
