Mary Sims Obituary
Mrs. Sims was born September 20, 1923 in Campti, LA and passed away July 6, 2010 in West Monroe. She was a retired nurse’s aide at Glenwood Regional Medical Center and was lifelong member of St. Paschal’s Catholic Church. Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband John Raymond “Big Boy” Sims in 1978 and step grandson, Jimbo Arrant; sisters, Eloise Lenard and Betty Mayo; brothers, Tom Perot and Melvin Perot.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny Ray Sims and wife Joanne and Robert Earl “Chief” Sims ; daughter, Jerry Lynn Arrant and husband Ed; grandchildren, Randy Phillips, Michael Wayne Sims, Sherry Lynn Peveto, Travis Ray Sims, Johnny Lee Sims and David Shane Sims; 3 step-grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews, 2 special cousins Lou Ann and Maxine.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
A special thank you to Dr. Ron Hammett.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and the Rosary Service will be at 6:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
