With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Eric Michael Tabert, age 48, of Canton, Georgia, on October 3rd, 2025 Eric lived a life marked by dedication, love, and quiet strength. After graduating from Chattahoochee High School and later earning his bachelor's degree from DeVry University, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Eric served his country with honor from 1994-2001. Those who knew him will remember his resilience, his quick wit, and the way he always showed up for the people he loved. Above all, Eric's greatest joy was his daughter, Alexa Tabert, who was the light of his life. He also leaves behind his parents, Rod (Carol) Tabert and Karen Tabert; his sister, Sara (Todd) Bamberg; and his nieces and nephews, Ashley (Nelson) Hancock, Tristan Hunter, Hailey Hunter, Ellis Bamberg, Olivia Bamberg, and a great nephew Judah Hancock. He will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, and cousins in Michigan, as well as many extended family and friends. Eric is reunited in peace with his sister Leah Nicole Tabert, his grandparents Mel and Irene Tabert, and Charles and Christine Griffith. A private service will be held to celebrate Eric's life. To honor his memory and his love for service, donations may be made to K9s For Warriors, supporting veterans through the healing power of service dogs. Donations can also be made to Alexa's college fund, through Sugar Hill Baptist Church, 5091 Nelson Brogdon Blvd, Sugar Hill, GA 30518. Please write Alexa Tabert on the memo of the check Eric's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. His kindness, courage, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
