Eric was born at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, on January 11, 1965. He was the first child and son of Muriel Flanagan Thomas and Enoch Thomas, both of whom preceded him in death. In January 1993, he married Angela Cook. From that union, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Angelique Thomas, born February 27, 1994. He is also survived by his sister, Sherri Thomas; his niece, Faith; his first cousin, Gary Davis; his cousins, Angela and Tory Joyner; his cousin Ashante Ailes-Pickett, Wayne, and a host of cousins, extended family, and loved ones.

Fondly remembered among the family were "the three COUSIN musketeers"-Eric, "Spanky" (Rev. Dr. Emery Ailes), and Gary-always finding themselves in the middle of some memorable adventure back in the day.

He was a frequent participant at Pristine Spring Hill Baptist Church online and knew the bible front to back. He was a giver, a helper, and always thinking about others before himself. He was a very kind and gentle person, always smiling and upbeat. He loved to cook, eat, and be humorous. If you needed that good belly laugh to forget your problems for a while, you would've looked no further than Eric.

He put his whole heart into whatever he was involved with, and he was a hard worker. He is loved, beloved, and will be very well missed. So take your rest, sir… We will see you again.
