I still find it hard to believe that Eric has transitioned and is no longer physically with us. I miss him dearly. We never forgot to send each other special birthday cards. He was truly the love of my life. We met as professionals in a special education school in the District of Columbia Public Schools. Eric was a phenomenally gifted and dedicated teacher. Students respected him, and he shared realistic lessons of life with them.
I admired his extraordinary financial expertise allowing him to travel widely and pursue his sports interests of sailing, skiing, tennis and basketball. He was a man's man, and I loved him for it. I have planted an Alberta Spruce Bush/Tree in front of my home in loving memory of Eric.
During our tenure together in the special education school, I interviewed Eric for an Ethnographic Study that I completed through the University of the District of Columbia. It was suggested at that time that I publish it. I did not. Perhaps I will have a future opportunity to publish the study in his honor. I will always love him and look forward to our embrace in the heavenly realm. God bless Brenda and the entire Winstead family.
Lovingly submitted,
Pamela Irene Brown

Eric is now skiing at the highest elevation. The spirit he shared with us on this planet will always be remembered. We will never forget the support he provided to the Capital Ski Club trips and his zest for racing over our 3 decades of friendship.
Thanks for feeding me often Eric, and teaching me what real fun hospitality is all about.
We are keeping the family in prayer.

My condolences to the Winstead family. Eric will be remembered for his devotion and love for his daughters, family and friends. You could count on Eric to show up with tools to help repair, a bottle of wine to share and entertaining tales to tell. His adventurous and beautiful spirit will be missed .
