Sunrise: May 28, 1974 Sunset: October 17, 2014. Eric Lashawn Wright, age 40, was called home on Friday, October 17, 2014. He was born on May 28, 1974 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Allen Lee Lowe and Phyllis A. Wright. He was a long time resident of San Diego, California and Jacksonville, Florida. Eric was preceded in death by his sister Lorraine Leslie. He is survived by his wife Lawanda A. Wright, Daughter: Keaira M. Wright, of San Marcos, CA, Mother: Phyllis A. Wright and Father Allen Lowe of Malvern, Arkansas, Brothers: Darrell Wright and Ronnie Jones Jr., Sisters: Evelyn Jean Thorower, Jackie Green, Loretta Coleman, and Tessa Jones, Uncles: George Wright and Ronald Wright, Nieces: Shena Lock, Kimberly Leslie, Sharina Leslie, Brandi Green, Brianna Colman, Dyshia Wright, Dominique Wright, Nephews: Jaylan Wright, Wallace Smith, Donatello Smith, Kenneth Leslie, Victor Weaver, Marcus Green, Darrius Green, Kellen Leslie, Best Friend: Shalimar Moss and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Eric graduated from Malvern High School in 1992. After he graduated, he joined the United States Navy where he served from February of 1993 until October of 2009. It was during this time he met and later married his wife of 17 years Lawanda A. Wright. They were married on July 11, 1997. One of his proudest moments was the birth of his beautiful daughter Keaira Monet Wright; born on September 06, 1999.   Eric retired from the Navy in October of 2009 after 16 years of service and relocated to San Diego, CA to begin his civilian career. He began working as a Logistics Clerk for General Atomics-ASI in October 2009. He was promoted in May 2011 to an Engineering Manufacturing Liaison. After working this position for nearly 3 years he went to work for AFLCMC/ Det 3 (USAF) Predator/Reaper Special Projects as a Senior Logistician in May of 2014. After moving to San Diego, Eric enrolled in college where he earned 3 degrees. He received an Associate of Science Degree in General Studies from Vincennes University in 2010, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University in 2011 where he graduated Cum Laude, and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Webster University in 2013. He enjoyed bike riding, traveling, reading, grilling and spending time with his family. He loved sports and was an avid Steelers fan. He really enjoyed learning and do-it-yourself projects. Eric had a very kind heart and quick wit. He left a footprint of love, patience, and grace on the hearts of all who knew him. The memories he created will be a warm blanket comforting all who loved him during this very difficult time.
