Erik Luther Brown

Erik Luther Brown, born on September 21, 1955, in Asheville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, at the age of 69, at AdventHealth Hendersonville, NC. Throughout his life, Erik remained deeply committed to his family, his community, and his faith.

Erik graduated from Asheville High School and went on to further his education at Mars Hill University. His professional career included significant contributions at Steelcase and Medical Action Industries, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Erik was an active member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville, having previously been part of the congregation at First Baptist Church Sarasota, FL. His commitment to service was evident through his work as a mentor at Celebrate Recovery and his involvement with the Food Bank at his church.

Throughout his life, Erik resided in various places, including Nokomis Beach, FL, and Cordova, AK, before returning to his roots in North Carolina.

Erik was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Clara Mae Brown, and his brother, Ben Brown (Geetha).

He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Donna K. Brown; his daughters, Christa Noon and Dawn Nickerson (Glen) of Arden, NC; his son, Nathan Brown (Ryen) of Washington, DC; and his cherished grandchildren, Christopher Harding, Beth Noon, Raya Nickerson, Cameron Nickerson, and Brendan Nickerson. He is also survived by his brother, Rex Brown (Glenda) of Leicester, NC; as well as his nephews, Cody Brown, Ravin Samaraweera, Ruwan Samaraweera, and Shivantha Samaraweera, and nieces, Carissa Brown, and Tamera Donovan.

In memory of his life and legacy, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Erik will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
