Erik Von Maxeiner

DECATUR - Erik Von Maxeiner, 30, of Decatur, IL, passed away peacefully at HSHS St. John's Hospital on February 28, 2024.
Erik was born in Decatur on November 18, 1993, the son of Harry and Tina (Brackett) Maxeiner Jr. He was a happy-go-lucky young man who enjoyed long walks, Tuesday night road runs, watching cartoons, and traveling.
Erik is survived by his parents Harry and Tina; sisters: Emili (Ryan) White, Andy (Kris), Mackenzie (Damon), and Meghan (Ethan); grandmother, Deloris Brackett; niece, Kinzley; nephews: Maddox, Reese, Emmitt, Karter, and Layton; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandma, Walser; and aunt, Becky.
Erik's family would like to extend special thanks to all the hospitals in the surrounding area and the many caregivers who cared for him over the years.
Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Erik.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the funeral home.

Harry and Tina and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Eric's passing. It was such a joy to see him at the Park Races and when we all were involved in Staley Striders and Johns Hill. Such a great kid. He had such a wonderful supportive, loving family too.
