Erik A Mitchell Sr.

Erik Armonte Mitchell was born on January 5, 1967, to the parentage of Susie Mitchell-Williams and Kermit Fowlks. He was raised by Susie and Lloyd Williams. His grandparents, Eugene and Maurene Mitchell, played a huge part in his raising, character, and beliefs.
Erik was born and raised in Dallas, TX, which he loved. Everywhere he traveled, both domestically and internationally, he claimed Kiest and Polk as well as Beckley Saner Dragons. He was the oldest of three children as well as the oldest grandchild. As a superior football player, he attended Kimball High School and Adamson High School. Erik was keen on education and learning. He earned a Diesel Mechanic Certification, as well as attending college.
Erik was blessed to have two children prior to marrying the love of his life, Dr. CK Mitchell, in July 2000. After wedding her, they had two more children.
Erik was a proud and active father who coach a plethora of young men in effort to make a positive impact on the community. He coached little league football teams, and encouraged his sons and other youngsters around the neighborhood to play on his team. He supported his daughters by attending their events such as dance, track, basketball, cheerleading, dancing, and even golf.
He was adventurous, free spirited, comical, and outgoing. He would light up every room he entered with his smile and spunky personality. He met no strangers! His hobbies included playing golf, traveling, watching sports, and spending time with family and his grandchildren. Everyone who knew him knew he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan!
He was a hardworking, dedicated businessman, and entrepreneur. He spent his career driving semi-trucks for 40 years. He spent countless hours away from home to ensure the care of his family. He has seen more of the U.S. than we can imagine through his love and passion for driving. He also taught many others to drive an eighteen-wheeler, so they could be self-sufficient.
He is preceded in death by his mother: Susie Mitchell-Williams; his biological father: Kermit Fowlks; his grandmother: Maurine Wesley Mitchell; his grandfather: Ronald Eugene Mitchell, Sr.; his uncle: Ronald Lewis Mitchell, Sr.; and his aunt: Darlene Collier.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Dr. CK Mitchell, children: Edrik Mitchell, Quintaria Clark, Tatyana Mitchell, Jevon Washington, Erik Mitchell Jr, and Erika Mitchell, grandchildren: Angel Rae Batimana and Darion Brashad Eugene Mumphrey, Jr., siblings: Sharon Williams, Phillip Mitchell (Rhonda), Kendrick Fowlks, Rodney Fowlks, Regina Fowlks Maple (Darrick), and Kermit Fowlks III (Frieda), a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
