Erla "Nanny" Evans

Erla "Nanny" (Brown) Evans , 80, of Spring City, PA, passed away on March 9,2026. Erla was born on April 1, 1945, in Cresson, PA to the late, Leonard and Margaret Brown. She worked for many years at Diamond Glass, where she met the love of her life. She retired from Federal Mogul in 2007.

Erla is survived by her children, Carol Glace of Halifax, PA; Denise Whitmore, with whom she resided with in Spring City, PA; Kenneth (Audra) Nihart of Exeter, PA; Christine (Robert) Yetter of Pottstown, PA; Joseph Farley (Son-in-law) of Chester Springs, PA; Debbie (Dennis) Mitchell of Glen Mills, PA; Richard Evans Jr. (Dee) of Hernando, MO. Erla is survived by 13 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson.

Erla is also survived by her sisters, Joan (Paul) Nihart of Boyertown, PA; Sandra Saunders of Douglassville, PA; and Kate Salsby of Pottstown, PA. Also, her best friend from elementary school, Mary Griffin of Cresson, PA.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard W. Evans Sr., her daughter Sharon Farley; her granddaughter Chelsea Yetter; Her siblings Marie Wentz, Anne Symosky, Leona Stock, Leonard Brown, and Betty McGangus.

Erla cherished all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandson, who she adored spending time with. She loved going to Bingo with her family and friends. She enjoyed her late-night bowls of ice cream, getting her hair permed, her pistachio cake, watching her game shows, the 7 pm lottery numbers, and rice pudding. She told you like it was and loved chatting with everyone "Had the gift of Gab". If you visited Nanny, you would leave with a pocket full of butterscotch candy.

Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2026 at 11:00 at Catagnus Funeral home in Royersford, PA. The service will follow at 12:30 pm. Following the service, there will be a luncheon at Royersford Firehouse (Hookies).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CHOP in memory of Chelsea Yetter.
