It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Erma Dorothy Atkins, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, who departed this world on January 8, 2026. Born on August 1, 1959, at Iruma Air Force Base in Irumagawa, Sajtama-Kun Japan, Erma's journey was one marked by love, dedication, and a nurturing spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Erma grew up surrounded by the warmth of her parents, George and Hatsue Myers, who instilled in her values of kindness and resilience. On August 3, 1979, she married her soulmate Paul Atkins, and their love blossomed into a beautiful family with the birth of their son, Ryan. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and unwavering dedication to one another.
For nearly four decades, Erma served the community as a cashier at Albertson's Grocery Store, where her radiant smile and gentle demeanor brightened the days of countless customers and coworkers. Known for her compassion and genuine kindness, Erma left an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.
Erma is reunited in spirit with her beloved parents, George and Hatsue, and she is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Atkins; her cherished son, Ryan Atkins; a brother, Robert Edward "Eddie"; and sisters, June Jorgenson and Judy Berkopec, along with nieces Kecia Myers and Morgan Berkopec, who will carry her memory forward with love.
Friends and family are invited to join together in remembrance and celebration of Erma's life. A visitation will be held at Steed-Todd Funeral Home on January 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral services will take place on January 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel, where we will gather to honor the wonderful life Erma led and the love she so generously shared.
In this time of reflection, may we find comfort in the cherished memories of Erma, who will forever live on in our hearts. Her legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering spirit will guide us as we navigate the days ahead without her.
