Erma Jean Francis-Washington

Erma Jean Francis-Washington passed peacefully from this life on the morning of on February 13th, 2024. Erma Jean was born in Giddings, TX, one of five girls and three boys born to parents, Nathaniel Francis and Erma Viola Rogers-Francis. She was also preceded in death by her sister Virginia Lewis and survived by Beverly, Elvis, and Curtis Lewis. She was 80 years old, married 59 years to Charles Washington Jr. She is preceded in death by her son (Carl Dennis Washington). She is survived by her husband (Charles Washington Jr.), son (Charles Nathan Washington), daughter (Cynthia Elaine Wright), and 3 grandchildren (Deion Deshawn Washington, Jasmine Nicole Washington, and Chelsey Elizabeth Wright). 
Erma was married 59 years and lived in Raleigh NC, Richmond VA, Houston TX, Austin TX, Jacksonville FL, Detroit MI,  Greensboro NC,  Atlanta GA, Fayetteville GA, finally retiring in Bastrop TX. She and her husband bought and sold 12 houses over the years. Erma was a college graduate of Jacksonville Junior College,  and was a teacher for 10 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, puzzles, dancing, shopping, and caring for her family. 
A Celebration of Life service will be held in memory of her on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 12:00 PM at
