Erma Jean Phillips

Erma Jean Phillips was born on March 9, 1955, in Savage Mississippi to the late Donnie Mae Yates and James Phillips. Erma was twelfth of fifteen children, and she accepted Christ at an early age at Independence Missionary Baptist church.
Erma was a mother, sister and caregiver. There wasn't a time that you saw her, and she didn't have a fun memory to share. Erma was the glue to the family. Early in life Erma worked at Federal Express and sometimes worked two jobs to support her son Johnathan Jackson. Later in life she went back to nursing school to become a nurse. She did private duty nursing for some years, before working at Baptist Desoto Hospital. She finished her career Methodist South Hospital where she was beloved worker and had a host of friends. Her Hobbies consist of shopping, spending time with her son and family. She was a hard worker and scarified a lot of time to support her family throughout the years. She was a blessing and will be missed.
She leaves to cherish her memories, the love and stories of his fun life, her son Johnathan (Jessica) Jackson and grandson Kyland of Olive Branch, MS. Her siblings Annie Laura Phillips-Jones of Michigan, Genn Eva Phillips and Janice Phillips Boyd, all of Memphis, Tennessee; a host of nieces and nephews, and a village of friends.
Ms. Phillips was preceded in death by her siblings Eddie Lee Phillips, Devonia Phillips-Johnson, Roosevelt Phillips, Leevorn Phillips, Betty Jean Garner, James Cleaster Phillips, Robert Earl Phillips, Wyton Phillips, Arthur Lee Phillips, Rubystein Ester and Virginia Brown.
