73, passed away peacefully on February 8th, after bravely fighting an aggressive neurological degenerative disease.
Before retiring Erna devoted 46 years of service to The Miriam Hospital, where her commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and patients alike.
Erna is survived by her loving wife, Roberta Bavaro; her cherished daughter, Jennifer Martone, and son-in-law, Karl Martone; and her beloved grandchild, Dante Fiorio, who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her brothers, Stephen Iannetta and Kenneth Iannetta, along with extended family and friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Iannetta and Rose Iannetta, as well as her first husband, Albert Howarth.
Erna will be remembered for her strength, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the family, the lives she touched through her work, and the many memories shared by those who knew her.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Erna’s memory.
