Ernest E. Coy Jr.

Ernest Edward Coy Jr (Ernie), 78 years of age, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, at West Shore Hospital in Mechanicsburg following a short battle with cancer. Ernie lived in Shippensburg, PA for over 75 years before moving to Camp Hill, PA later in life to be closer to family.

Ernie was born June 2, 1947, in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania to the late Ernest Edward Coy Sr and Elsie Mae Coy. Ernie is survived by his wife Elva Grace (Heefner) Coy, sons Mark Anthony Coy (and his fiancé Laurie Lilley) Andrew Jacob Coy (and his wife Sarah), grandchildren Ethan, Colin, Emma, Sophie and Sadie Coy, great grandchildren, sisters Virginia Coons and Sandra Hummel and many nieces and nephews. Ernie was preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Singleton.

Ernie began life with significant health issues, contracting polio before the age of one, but did not let this stop him from living a life rich with memories. While he did not attend college, his mathematical ability and memory made him a force to be reckoned with. Ernie attended church at many locations over the years and loved his family deeply. He also loved to hunt, tell stories (mostly true), and was an avid coin and antique toy collector. While not blessed with financial resources, he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
