Ernest Lee "Ernie" Donley, 93, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, in Aurora, Indiana.
He was born April 25, 1929, in Lawrenceburg, IN, son of the late Ernest S. Donley and Eleanor (Ollman) Donley. He worked as a Construction Worker for Frank Messer and Sons, and other area companies.
Ernie was a member of Life Church (formerly, Alliance Church) and formerly attended Hope Baptist Church, Dillsboro, IN. Ernie's faith was important to him. He served as greeter and always had a smile on his face. He did not know a stranger and if you asked how he was, you would get his big smile and answer that he was "copasetic". Ernie enjoyed music and was known to participate in many local Karaoke nights and area senior citizen dances. He was also a Reds Fan. He enjoyed his family. He will be greatly missed by family, church family and all other friends.
Ernest is survived by his loving children, Kenny Donley of Indianapolis, IN, Sharon Miller of Moores Hill, IN, Nancy Creech of Aurora, IN; brother, Billy Donley of Englewood, FL; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Jacqueline (Buffington) Donley, parents, Ernest S.& Eleanor Donley; Twin brother, Everett Leroy Donley, brothers, Johnny Donley, James Thomas Donley; sisters, Shirley Green, Betty House, Wanda Lee Donley; daughter, Judy Lee Donley Connelton; grandsons, John Andrew Creech III & Jody Swift.
Friends will be received Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora IN.
Services will be held at the funeral home, Wednesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Kenny Hopper officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
Contributions may be made to the Life Church or charity of choice. If unable to attend services, please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.
